No More Rice

I have decided that starting today, I will break up my love affair with rice and develop a healthier eating habit that involved less meat and more fruits and veggies. Why? Because I can no longer fit into my pants...all of my pants! Well, I can if I really need to. And most of the time, I need to. I can't walk around in the office pants-less, can I? But I noticed that recently, the result of me successfully squeezing myself into my ever-shrinking clothes, is not a very good sight to see. Muffin top, anyone?

So yeah, I have decided to ditch the rice (and the extra rice) for now, and combine this with my commitment of taking 10,000 steps daily. With any luck, I might not have to buy new clothes after all. Economical, right?

*Update: 2:48 PM

Curly Top, my ever-supportive life partner, thought it would be fun to up the notch of this challenging decision of mine, by buying Cebu Lechon for lunch today. If I didn't love him enough, I'd strangle him.

The Burger Day

Look at what I did with my friends on the second day of the Global Corporate Challenge: PIG OUT!!!

Taft resident, Ayay, was our official tour guide around the La Salle area
where our target, Zark's Burger, is located.

The Challenge: Finish the Tombstone Burger in 5 minutes or  less,
and your meal is free!
(Warning: It's a 2-pound, quadruple pattie burger with cheese.)

Burger cravings: Definitely satisfied! BURP!

Apart from today being a payday Friday for us, we also have other good reasons to indulge ourselves in a little celebration. Jaydee is about to start training for his new role at work next week (Yey!), and guess what? I got a promotion today! Hurray!!!!

Get The World Moving

Last month, I signed up to join this thing called Global Corporate Challenge at the office. The tagline and main goal of this endeavor is to "get the world moving" and they plan to accomplish this by giving each participant an accelerometer to monitor steps and other activities on a daily basis. According to most studies, we should make at least 10,000 steps (or active movements) each day to promote health and well-being.

Their official Facebook page says it all:

Our Vision – To Get The World Moving

The GCC makes being more active, more normal. GCC participants aren’t on the sidelines of life, they’re stepping up and actively involved in their own wellbeing. We think they’re heroes so through our knowledge, our experience and our passion we support them in the global movement that is the GCC.

We get out of bed every morning unfailingly committed to helping them, their workplace, their families, their communities, and our entire world to enjoy healthier, happier and more productive lives.

My Pulse accelerometers arrived today and I am thrilled to start this challenge. I'm not sure yet how I can reach 10,000 steps daily, being the lazy-ass person that I am, but it's worth giving it a try!

Curly Top's Day

Today is my second-favorite day of the year. (My first favorite being my own birthday.)

It's the birthday of my one true love, my Curly Top, my sunshine through the rain, my cool breeze on a humid day, my Prince Charming, my Only Exception, my bestest friend, my partner in crime, the leading man of my teenage daydreams, my happy ending, my wish-come-true, my life's companion, my soul mate, my destiny, the man I will grow old with, and my [insert all other sappy, mushy, annoying love cliches here].

Happy Birthday my Love! Cheers to your wonderful life!
