Get The World Moving

Last month, I signed up to join this thing called Global Corporate Challenge at the office. The tagline and main goal of this endeavor is to "get the world moving" and they plan to accomplish this by giving each participant an accelerometer to monitor steps and other activities on a daily basis. According to most studies, we should make at least 10,000 steps (or active movements) each day to promote health and well-being.

Their official Facebook page says it all:

Our Vision – To Get The World Moving

The GCC makes being more active, more normal. GCC participants aren’t on the sidelines of life, they’re stepping up and actively involved in their own wellbeing. We think they’re heroes so through our knowledge, our experience and our passion we support them in the global movement that is the GCC.

We get out of bed every morning unfailingly committed to helping them, their workplace, their families, their communities, and our entire world to enjoy healthier, happier and more productive lives.

My Pulse accelerometers arrived today and I am thrilled to start this challenge. I'm not sure yet how I can reach 10,000 steps daily, being the lazy-ass person that I am, but it's worth giving it a try!
