Awesome Day

I made plans for today to meet up with two dear friends that I haven't seen in such a long time and whom I both miss terribly. But life happened and we had to cancel our Saturdate for them to accommodate other important adult responsibilities (See: Job, Work, Livelihood).

I totally understand, and I'm not the clingy, whiny, annoying type of friend who demands time and attention all the time. But still, I was a bit sad that I won't be seeing them today, plus the fact that the first day of my weekend off from work is now totally devoid of any type of planned activity.

At least, that's what I thought..until I logged into Twitter and saw that some cast members of Glee are in Manila today for a mall tour and promotion for Coca-Cola! I love Glee (except most episodes from season 3), so I dragged my brother to Market! Market! this afternoon to check them out. We got there a few moments before the program ended, and I literally had just a minute (or less) to catch a glimpse of the four Glee stars on stage before they gave their final wave to the fans, headed backstage, and the crowd dispersed.

I was bummed, but then I remembered that there's another reason why I decided to head out to BGC today. There's an ongoing art exhibit at the Fort branch of Fully Booked that I also wanted to check out ever since I heard about it last week. I was thoroughly intrigued by the exhibit's highlight: a painting on a giant stack of books! So me and my brother went to my wonderland, that glorious building at the Bonifacio High Street where a book-lover's fondest dreams could come true. (I am still trying to find out what I need to do--or who I need to bribe--for them to allow me to live there permanently.)

When we got there, the artist was signing autographs and posing for pictures with people. I wanted to also approach him, but I felt awkward and shy so I just took pictures from afar and then I went and said hello to the books.

Afterwards, my brother and I wanted to get some ice cream at the newly opened Coldstone Creamery but the tiny place was jam-packed with customers, so we decided to cap off our Saturday afternoon adventure with some cocoa with rock salt and cheese from Happy Lemon instead.

Glee for Coke at Market! Market and Mike Stilkey's
"Discarded Romance" at Fully Booked, the Fort branch.

It turned out to be a happy day after all!
